Drag and Rescue Device |
Apex Fire Services is licensed by Yoc Strap®
to manufacture, install and service Drag
Rescue Devices.
In August of 2006, the 2007 revision of NFPA
1971 Standard on Protective Ensembles for
Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire
Fighting became effective. One of the
changes introduced into this standard is
technology that greatly improves the ability
to rescue a downed fire fighter. This
technology is known as a DRD, or Drag Rescue
Device, and is now mandatory for all jackets
manufactured to this revision of NFPA 1971.
It is also available as an upgrade to all
existing jackets manufactured to previous
revisions of NFPA 1971.
Why
not bring your entire department up to the
new standard now? You can have your current
ensemble jackets retrofitted with the Yoc
Strap® DRD, providing your personnel with
this higher level of protection:
- The number one choice of fire coat
manufactures in the U.S. and Canada,
based on its ease of installation and
overall simplicity of design.
- Provides a fast, safe means of
aiding in the removal of a downed
firefighter from an IDLH environment,
fits well into any RIT program.
- Integrated design means no bulky
webbing under the coat
for
zero wearer discomfort.

- Adds no noticeable weight to the
garment.
- Where it's needed when it's needed.
- Works independently of the garment,
does not elevate the coat when in use.
- When deployed, cinches around the
shoulders of the downed member for a
most secure grasp.
- Yoc Strap® does not let go!
