Apex Fire Services (AFS) is proud to announce our partnership with The Fire Code Academy (FCA). Apex has and continues to be a dependable and knowledgeable industry leader in the training of fire fighters and first responders as to the proper care and maintenance of turnout gear and protective ensembles. However, this partnership with The Fire Code Academy will enable both entities the ability to extend their respective reach across the State of Ohio and throughout the Midwest with custom tailored training solutions and programs for the fire service with the ultimate goal of promoting fire fighter safety.

Our comprehensive training program on the NFPA 1851 Standard on Selection, Care and Maintenance of Protective Ensembles for Structural Fire Fighting and Proximity Fire Fighting is an approved (FCA) course and meets the requirements for fire service continuing education as outlined in the Ohio Administrative Code. The FCA has partnered with Clark State Community College to provide fire departments the best resources, training and education possible. Clark State will be tracking all of our educational sessions and issuing certificates. Student transcripts of completed training will be provided as needed.

Training Details

Apex Fire Services is the only independently owned and operated personal protective ensemble (PPE) Care and Maintenance facility in Ohio and one of the most credentialed in the Midwest. Because we do not have an affiliation with any one PPE manufacturer and we are not a dealer of PPE, Apex Fire Services enjoys relationships with all manufacturers and textile mills, thus affording us the opportunity to share detailed industry technical information with our customers regarding the PPE products that we service. As such, we are often looked at as being a leading industry entity in PPE maintenance.

Our experience and knowledge gained by working side-by-side with a vast array of fire service manufacturers and industry experts combined with using that knowledge to better educate our customers about the life saving protective gear that they utilize everyday is what sets Apex Fire Services apart from any other ISP in the Midwest.

Consultation to individual fire departments and department safety committees specific to developing and implementing an NFPA 1851 compliant program is available.
